Sinclair played Hemingway in Pamplona drinking wine from a wine skin or 'bota,' and spilling it on his white Pamplona shirt. Sinclair took 2nd prize in the contest honoring the American novelist who last attended the 'Fiesta de San Fermin' fifty years ago in 1959, but put Pamplona on the map with his 1926 novel, The Sun Also Rises, telling of adventure, romance, bullfights and the running-with-the-bulls during the week-long Fiesta de San Fermin. The American write placed the city of Pamplona on the international map with his 1926 novel, The Sun Also Rises, telling of adventure, romance, bullfights and the running-with-the-bulls during the week-long Fiesta de San Fermin, which begins on July 6th and includes a bull-run each morning starting on July 7. The city of Pamplona is holding the contest to mark the 50th anniversary since 'Papa' Hemingway last took part in the Fiesta de San Fermin, which was in 1959.
